James graduated from Glasgow University in 1969 with a degree in Economics and Politics and went on to graduate in law in 1972. After a period with Boyds, Solicitors, Glasgow James set up his own practice in 1978 specialising in private client work and advice for small businesses. The business expanded latterly into commercial conveyancing and commercial debt recovery and built up a considerable expertise in this area of litigation.
James merged his business with Mitchells Roberton in April 2016 and has brought to us his significant experience in private client and general commercial work. He has built up a substantial personal connection with clients over the years and aims to do the same with Mitchells Roberton for both his existing clients and for new clients.
James lives in Bearsden with his wife Katie and (West of Scotland weather permitting) is an enthusiastic (if not very expert) gardener. He enjoys walking and outdoor pursuits generally and retains a keen interest in sport. He is currently the Session Clerk of Baldernock Parish Church.
