Luke McColgan – Trainee Solicitor
Luke began his legal journey at City of Glasgow College, where he took a HND in legal services from 2019 -2021. He then undertook his LLB (Hons) at Strathclyde University, achieving a first class award and graduating in 2025. He went straight on to the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (also at Strathclyde) and joined Mitchells Roberton as an admin assistant in summer 2026 before starting his traineeship with us October 2026. He has experience working in Immigration and Asylum law as a caseworker assisting with case preparation , client and witness statements and legal research and was awarded the Benchmarks Advocates Prize for Excellence in Criminal Law (Honours) during his degree.
Outside of work he enjoys watching football, going to the gym (strength training in particular) as well as cycling outdoors when the weather permits. He also DJs (particularly electronic music) and enjoys seeing live DJs. Luke is a big (huge!) fan of fantasy and science fiction films, books and series (esp. Game of Thrones and Dune).
