Morag Inglis – Chairman
Morag graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1984. She commenced her traineeship with Mitchells Roberton in 1985 becoming the first female Partner in the firm in 1993. After many years in her role as the Managing Partner, Morag became the first female Chairman of Mitchells Roberton in April 2021. As the Chairman of the firm Morag views people – both clients and colleagues to be at the core of business.
Morag takes pride in the fact that most staff have been with the firm for long periods of time and she delights in knowing that the firm has helped families, generation after generation. Her mission as Chairman is to preserve and strengthen the Mitchells Roberton caring culture within the business.
For much of her legal career Morag specialised in areas of commercial practice and has acted for a wide range of clients in property disposals, acquisitions, leases and in offering a variety of business and general contract advice.
Morag has a large client base and so gets involved in all sorts of issues including residential conveyancing and private client work in the fields of wills, powers of attorney and winding up estates. She has the excellent skill of providing a holistic approach to problem solving always looking at the wider picture.
In her role as Chairman, Morag remains as approachable as she has always been to clients and colleagues alike. She is stepping back from much of her client work and belatedly learning the art of delegation of client work among her many capable and willing colleagues.
In the little spare time that Morag has she loves walking, reading, music and spending time with family, friends and Fergus, a miniature dachshund.
